A landowner in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is facing serious consequences for building an unauthorised caravan park. Despite multiple warnings and refusals, the landowner hasn’t complied with an enforcement notice, which now has led to the park authorities backing legal action against them.

It all started in May 2023 when the park authorities received complaints about a green field in Dinas Cross being turned into a caravan park. Inspectors found numerous violations, including stripped vegetation, widened access, and installed storage containers without permission. Instead of following the rules, the landowner failed to make any voluntary changes or successfully appeal the decisions.

Their first retrospective planning application for the site was denied in 2024, and yet again a further application for a seasonal campsite was refused in late 2025. The enforcement notice remained in effect, but the landowner continued to disregard it.
With multiple planning applications and an appeal dismissed, the continuous breach of planning regulations has pushed the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park members to support prosecuting the landowner. Authorities are stressing that compliance is vital for preserving the natural beauty and special qualities of the national park. This decision aims to reinforce the planning system’s integrity and public confidence by dealing decisively with unauthorised developments.
The message is clear: you can’t just flout planning rules without facing the consequences! Stay tuned to see how this legal battle unfolds. 🌿🏞️ #Pembrokeshire #NationalPark #LegalAction #CaravanPark #PlanningLaws
