Crazy day in Abergwynfi! Maximin Carter, a 51-year-old man with no fixed address, has admitted to possessing a collection of weapons, including a Ninja sword, knuckle duster, and extendable batons. This alarming incident kicked off on February 15 when emergency services and a bomb disposal team were called to Commercial Street on suspicion that Carter was attempting to make an explosive.
The surrounding houses had to be evacuated while the bomb squad made the area safe, with local residents finding shelter at the miners’ hall. Carter’s case went to Swansea Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to six charges of having an offensive weapon in a private place. He’s now in custody as he awaits sentencing, scheduled for April 7.
