What a day at Goodwood Motor Circuit! I had the incredible opportunity to test drive 11 different cars, including some real heavyweights like a £350,000 Rolls Royce Black Badge Ghost and the sleek Alpine A110 R. But you won’t believe what ended up stealing my heart – the £23k Renault 5 electric car!

I had six hours to experience everything these cars had to offer, both on track and on public roads. And let me tell you, the Renault 5 left quite an impression. Despite its modest price tag, this little EV delivered a drive that other compact vehicles will find hard to match. It’s bagged countless awards and now has one more fan in me!

Of course, the Rolls Royce was a close contender, offering the sheer luxury you’d expect when commanding such a prestigious car. Driving it was pure magic, a bit like gliding on clouds over the Sussex roads.
Not forgetting the Alpine A110 R, which I’ve driven before! It’s phenomenal on a circuit, offering razor-sharp cornering that felt like a perfectly rehearsed dance routine. Racing past corners that legends like Sir Jackie Stewart have tackled was an unforgettable experience.
Here’s how the rest of my day panned out:
1. Renault 5 – £22,995
2. Rolls Royce Black Badge Ghost – £350,000
3. Alpine A110 R – £96,990
4. Honda Prelude – £40,995
5. BMW M2 – £70,095
6. MG 4 Urban – £23,495
7. Land Rover Defender 110 D350 Trophy Edition – £84,815
8. Ford Capri SUV – £41,485
I’m still buzzing from the experience, and that little Renault 5 really shook things up. You just never know what’s going to leap out of the pack and grab your attention. Keep an eye out for it – it’s a game-changer! 🚗💨
