🎢 Exciting plans or an eyesore? The seaside village of Port Eynon in Gower is buzzing with debate! 🏖️ Swansea Council has proposed an 11m high ropes attraction in an overflow car park near the beach, promising adventurous climbing options—including a thrilling “Gladiator challenge”.

While this could bring action-packed fun 🌟 for young people, not everyone is on board. 🌊 Port Eynon Community Council has voiced strong opposition, citing that 95% of locals aren’t in favour, worried about visual impact and summer congestion. Barry Stubbings, the local clerk, highlighted concerns, stating, “It’s the wrong thing in that location. It’s totally out of place.”

The proposed structure would integrate into local youth activities, alongside orienteering and archery, organised by Ty Borfa activity centre. Still, concerns abound over how it fits into the serene coastal landscape. One local pointed out that the wooden and steel frame would clash with the area’s natural beauty, despite attempts to tone it down. 🚧

Swansea Council assures that all feedback will be considered. For now, the community remains divided: could the climbing frame boost local tourism and offer new activities, or does it risk transforming the tranquil atmosphere into something too urban? 🌆
What’s your take? Should Port Eynon embrace this bold new attraction, or should its charm remain untouched? 🌿 Share your thoughts below! 👇 #PortEynonDebate #ClimbingFrameControversy #CommunityVoices
