🥳 What a thrilling find! Chris Evans and James Fraser, two enthusiastic metal detectorists, have struck gold… well, bronze actually! While exploring a scenic field on Anglesey, their detectors unearthed a rare Bronze Age axe head dating back to 1750-1950 BC. This discovery is more than just a relic; it’s a peek into history! ⏳🪓

After battling through some wet weather and a few months of anticipation, their patience paid off just ten minutes into their recent adventure. Chris, a joiner by trade, knew he hit the jackpot with what he described as “a belter of a signal.”

🏺This isn’t their first rodeo: their previous finds include a medieval hoard of 468 coins, Roman treasure troves, glittering gold coins, and a plethora of Roman brooches and coins! These lads have been redefining ‘treasure hunt’ with each dig!
The axe head is now proudly displayed at Oriel Mon, bringing a slice of prehistoric life to the public eye. The find has been logged with Gwynedd Archaeological Trust and registered with the Portable Antiquities Scheme, ensuring it’s preserved for future generations.
Chris attributes their success to rigorous research of historic sites and strategic permissions, ensuring they hit all the right spots.
