An encampment has reappeared in Cardiff city centre, sparking concerns among locals. Set up between Taffs Mead Embankment and Wood Street, this isn’t the first time the area has seen such activity. Less than a year ago, a similar encampment was linked with littering and anti-social behaviour before being cleared out. The past saw up to 28 people living under the bridge, with residents feeling unsafe to use the nearby walkway due to issues like drug use and assaults.

Despite efforts from Cardiff Council and South Wales Police to keep the area clean, a new encampment has emerged. Concerned locals have taken to social media, venting frustrations over rubbish being thrown onto the River Taff banks. Cardiff Council is actively reaching out to individuals at the site, encouraging them to engage with support services and secure accommodation. Authorities, including South Wales Police, are making daily visits to offer assistance and tackle any offending behaviour.

The community remains focused on resolving these issues, ensuring public safety and keeping the picturesque area clean. Let’s hope for a positive outcome and a peaceful resolution for all involved!
