🚨 Shocking Incident in Cardiff City Centre 🚨

In a startling turn of events, a woman in Cardiff city centre was left feeling “terrified and violated” after being grabbed from behind by a stranger who attempted to snatch her backpack filled with brownies. The assailant, Nathan Bougossa, 38, was experiencing a “mental health episode” during the attack, which occurred near the Marriott Hotel on Hayes Bridge Road last November.

As the woman bravely fought back, screaming “No!” as Bougossa tried to seize her bag, she managed to shake him off. He then fled the scene towards Canal Street. But the chaos didn’t end there. Bougossa went on to punch another man in an unprovoked attack, leaving onlookers in disbelief.

Eventually, CCTV footage led to Bougossa’s arrest, where he alarmingly confessed to having attempted to “kill a woman during a robbery” simply because he found it to be “tasty stuff.” Bougossa, hailing from Tyndall Street in Butetown, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and assault by beating.
In court, the female victim described being hypervigilant since the attack, fearing it could happen again. The male victim echoed similar sentiments, finding himself more defensive around strangers.
While Bougossa’s defence argued that he was going through a difficult period, including past traumas and homelessness, the court ultimately sentenced him to 12 months in prison.
