Heartbreaking news has surfaced about Adriana Retyte, a ‘talented’ 14-year-old from Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk, who has sadly passed away. Adriana was found at her family home on 8 May and passed away in hospital just two days later. Many will remember her for her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit. A Year 9 pupil at Langley School, Adriana touched the hearts of everyone around her and had a passion for both academics and sports, especially as a player for the Taverham Toucans girls’ football team.

Her mother, Greta Saggers, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, expressing immense gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this challenging time. Friends and family have turned to an online fundraising page in Adriana’s honour to support Papyrus, a young suicide prevention charity. One close friend, Sofiia Katrechko, remembered Adriana as the bringer of “joy, laughter, and light.”

Langley School paid tribute to Adriana, describing her as a valued member of the school community. They’ve extended their support for those affected by this tragic loss, urging for privacy for Adriana’s family as they grieve.

The full inquest into the cause of her death is set for October 16, but the impact Adriana left on those she’s touched is undeniable. Her funeral will take place on May 21 at St Faith’s Crematorium in Norwich.
