In an unimaginable tragedy, Adam Muskett and Katie Worrell lost their lives in a crash on the A477 while they were simply on their way to Bristol Airport for a holiday. The pair, from Pembrokeshire, were excitedly heading off to celebrate Katie’s birthday, but a collision with a reckless Jag driven by Alexander MacCallum would end those dreams in an instant.

Both in their twenties, Adam and Katie had a promising future ahead. But heartbreakingly, the judicial system seemed to dismiss their worth, letting MacCallum walk free with just a suspended sentence and a short driving ban. For their families, the grief is undeniable and their fight for justice is far from over. Adam’s mother, Helen, described how she taught him to drive with such care. Now, she’s tearing through the system that ruled so leniently against the man responsible for their children’s deaths.

The Muskett and Worrell families are campaigning for change, pushing for harsher sentencing for causing death by careless driving. They want the five-year maximum increased to 20, licenses suspended during investigations, and a review of the judicial treatment of multiple deaths in one incident. Their petition aims to ensure no other family has to endure this injustice.
Both families have seen amazing community support, with thousands raised for Wales Air Ambulance and other charities in Adam and Katie’s memory. Though nothing can bring back their loved ones, these families are determined to drive change in the system – because lives matter. Let’s amplify their voices by signing and sharing their petition. Every signature brings us closer to change and honours Adam and Katie’s legacy.
