Imagine being told to do sit-ups for post-birth changes only to discover it’s cancer. That’s the shocking journey of Tia Faye Clark, a young mum from Pembrokeshire. Just two days after welcoming baby Robyn, Tia noticed a ‘big’ lump and severe stomach pain. Despite voicing her concerns to multiple health professionals, she was advised to exercise her ‘squishy’ stomach muscles. Months later, she learned it was a rare and aggressive cancer – Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Sarcoma.

Tia’s perseverance in seeking answers eventually led to the devastating diagnosis of terminal cancer, with significant tumours on her pelvis and liver. Throughout this unimaginable ordeal, she has stayed remarkably strong for her daughter, as she embarks on another round of chemotherapy to battle the disease.

Tia’s story is one of tremendous courage and sheds light on the importance of listening to our bodies and advocating for ourselves, especially when it feels like no one is taking us seriously. She’s sharing her experience to raise awareness about her symptoms, hoping to help others in similar situations. Her friend has even set up a GoFundMe to support her through these challenging times.
Tia reflects on the missed opportunities for early intervention and the emotional toll of preparing for a future with her daughter that she might not witness. The situation brings forward a crucial conversation about medical advocacy and the disparities young women often face in healthcare.
Let’s rally around Tia Faye and her little Robyn, supporting them as they navigate this tough journey. If you feel moved, consider donating to her fundraiser to provide some relief as she fights this battle. 💖
