πΆπ Major Concert Disrupts Welsh Rugby Match in Canada! ππ¨

Mountain Ash RFC, currently celebrating their 150th anniversary with a tour in Canada, faced an unexpected challenge. A planned match against Fergus Highland RFC had to be cancelled due to heavy traffic, thanks to a Bruno Mars concert and a Toronto Blue Jays game happening the same night. ππ

The club, based about 70 miles from Toronto, found the journey to Fergus nearly impossible. With travel times soaring to over three hours, and concerns about returning to Toronto post-game, cancelling was the only option. Discussions with senior players and staff revealed it wouldnβt be feasible to make the 7pm kickoff and return safely. πβ°

Fergus Highland RFC, celebrating their 35th anniversary, understood the predicament and were accommodating. A rescheduled match was considered, but couldnβt be booked before the club heads back to Wales. π΄
A club statement expressed disappointment, yet emphasised that all efforts were made to fulfil the fixture. They thanked Fergus Highland for their understanding and expressed pride in their teamβs representation during the tour. ππͺ
Despite this hiccup, spirits remain high, and Mountain Ash RFC is taking this setback in stride. They’ve already celebrated a victory against Brampton RFC earlier in the tour. ππ
Keep up with further updates as the tour continues. Weβre sure the lads will return home with plenty of tales from their Canadian adventure! ππ¨π¦
