🚨 Shocking Home Invasion in Ebbw Vale 🚨
Imagine the fear of having to barricade yourself and your kids in a room while a gang raids your home. That’s exactly what happened to a mum and her children recently. Late one night, they heard ominous noises downstairs. Initially thinking a cupboard had fallen, the mum’s teenage son quickly realised the truth and stopped her from investigating.
Desperate to keep safe, the family huddled in a bedroom with their dog and made an urgent call to 999. As they listened in dread, the gang attempted to break into their safe haven before finally fleeing – but not before making off with the mum’s car.
So far, police have managed to arrest one gang member, Liman Xhebexhia, who’s now looking at four-and-a-half years behind bars. He’s not been able to explain away the blood evidence found at the scene, although he insists he thought he was breaking into a cannabis factory.
The family’s nightmare unfolded just weeks after they moved in, unaware of the house’s notorious past. They swapped homes with the previous occupants via Facebook, who were the original targets due to alleged criminal affiliations.
Xhebexhia has a history, with multiple convictions and a troubled journey back to the UK from Albania. His counsel argues he was under pressure from those to whom he owed money, leading him to the crime that terrified an innocent family.
Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke sympathised with the victims, acknowledging the substantial impact on them. As for Xhebexhia, he’ll serve 40% of his sentence in custody, with the possibility of deportation looming.
