️Two brothers have just been found guilty of the brutal murder of Anthony Littler, committed 42 years ago in East Finchley, North London. Michael and Anthony Stewart were merely teenagers back in 1984 when they launched a horrific attack on 45-year-old Anthony Littler, a civil servant, in what courts have ruled a hate crime.

The attack, which took place on a dark alleyway as Littler was returning home, involved him being struck with a blunt object, causing catastrophic brain injuries that led to his death. Despite the crime being highlighted on programmes like Crimewatch, the case remained unsolved for decades.

A breakthrough came when a family dispute prompted the Stewart brothers’ younger sibling to come forward, revealing incriminating confessions they had made about the murder and their disturbing pastime of targeting men suspected of being gay.

Thanks to covert police tactics, including listening devices capturing Michael bragging about the crime, the Stewarts are now held accountable. After 42 long years, a jury took just three hours to find them guilty at the Old Bailey.
With the sentencing set for 3rd July, justice has finally caught up with the brothers. Anthony Littler’s family can now hope for some closure, knowing those responsible for his tragic death have been brought to justice. 🌈⚖️
