Travel just got a lot easier for families flying back to the UK! Starting Wednesday 8th July, children aged 8 and 9 can now speed through eGates with their parents, just like the grown-ups! 🚀

Traffic Updates
Previously, only kids over 10 could zip through these high-tech gates, but with the new rule, an additional 1.5 million young adventurers will enjoy quicker exits at 15 UK airports and even at ports in Brussels and Paris! Including London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh among others.

Why the change? It’s simple! The biometric scanners are officially kid-friendly, as long as your little one is at least 120cm tall. More eGate access means a faster, smoother journey home and way less time in those annoying queues! 🙌

Migration minister Mike Tapp expressed, “Travel with young children can be stressful for parents. By expanding eGate access, more families can experience a swifter and smoother journey home – freeing up precious time this summer holiday season.”

These changes are designed not only to make travelling more pleasant but also to allow border officers to focus on intercepting those who might pose a threat to the UK. Safety first!

And it’s not just UK passport holders getting the benefits! Friends from the EU, USA, Australia, Japan, and more can enjoy the eGate experience too, speeding everyone along to summer holiday adventures. 🌍

Love travelling or expecting guests from abroad? This update fits right in with our commitment to deliver a world-class welcome!

So, pack those bags and travel with ease knowing you’ll spend less time in queues and more time enjoying your holidays! ✈️🌞
