Unveiled at a Premier Inn on the site of the famous show’s opening credits, this clay masterpiece celebrates 25 years since “The Office” first hit our screens. Sculpted by Gareth Knowles, the statue captures Brent’s unique charisma and weighs in at seven kilograms.
Tim Oliver, a Brent impersonator, brought the unveiling to life with classic dance moves that made Gervais a household name. The statue stands as a permanent tribute to British comedy at the Slough Trading Estate hotel.
A fun survey commissioned to celebrate the anniversary revealed that fans’ favourite moment was Brent’s unforgettable Comic Relief dance, capturing 26% of the vote. It was followed by Dawn and Tim’s romantic Christmas party kiss with 15%.
With nearly three-quarters of viewers enjoying the show’s nostalgic take on early 2000s office life, though 68% wouldn’t want to work at Wernham Hogg, it’s clear that “The Office” holds a special place in people’s hearts.
The hotel’s spokesperson said, “Ricky’s iconic character truly put Slough on the map,” and noted that while office life has evolved, a good night’s sleep remains essential for business travellers—a guarantee Premier Inn is keen to uphold.
