A dangerous predator has finally been taken off the streets! Damien Jones has been handed a 23-year sentence after being found guilty of 16 sexual offences against a child, including multiple rapes and assaults. For years, Jones horrifically abused a young girl, but justice has now been served thanks to her incredible bravery in coming forward.

The 40-year-old from Llanelli will spend 22 years behind bars, followed by one year on licence. His release will depend on the Parole Board’s assessment of his threat level. With a lifetime registration as a sex offender and an indefinite restraining order, he’ll no longer pose a risk to the public.

Police have praised the victim’s courage in enduring the trial process and ensuring Jones faced justice. Detective Leanne Morris from Dyfed-Powys Police CID commended the victim’s strength and thanked the investigation team for their professionalism and hard work in securing this outcome.
