A “dine and dash” incident at a popular Penarth restaurant has been resolved! A couple left El Puerto with an unpaid bill totalling £115.60 for a feast that included Dover sole, calamari, and a whopping eight Coca-Colas. After CCTV images were circulated on social media, the duo came forward to settle the bill.

Business owner Tanny Martinez expressed the frustration felt, stating that although the financial loss hurts, the impact on the team’s morale can be just as significant. This incident highlights the challenges that hard-working teams face, even when they’re dedicated to delivering top-notch dining experiences.

Thankfully, the issue came to a peaceful conclusion without involving further police action. It seems putting the story out on social media nudged the customers to make things right.
Kudos to everyone who helped resolve the matter, proving once again the power of community and internet sleuthing! Do you think sharing incidents like these on social media is the way to go? Let us know in the comments below! 🍴👏
