The passionate petition, spearheaded by the Herbivore Club’s Adam Shaw, calls on the council to reject the use of guinea pigs as a meat source. Shaw argues that these animals are cherished as pets across the UK and underscores the need for a government ban on breeding and consuming them for food.
Many supporters of the petition have voiced strong opposition, labelling the practice as “barbaric.” In response, Pembrokeshire County Council stated it would adhere to its Petition Scheme before making a definitive comment based on the signature count.
