A pub night out turned into chaos when 58-year-old Beverley Wright unleashed a storm of punches on Mark Davies, leaving him with a broken leg. It all went down at the Belle Vue pub in Merthyr Tydfil, where tensions flared from a lingering grudge over a long-gone parking spat. Things took a turn for the worse when Wright, fuelled by anger, reportedly attacked Davies “like a crazed wild animal,” leaving him battered and bruised.
The incident kicked off when Wright allegedly shouted provocative words at Davies, prompting a heated exchange. According to court records, witnesses saw Wright attempting to knock Davies’ phone from his hand, followed by a flurry of blows to his head. Caught in the turmoil, Davies ended up trapped between a table and chair, suffering injuries that sent him to hospital with a fractured shinbone and a knee injury.
Wright appeared in court, where her solicitor argued self-defence, claiming she attacked Davies to prevent him from “going for” her partner. Despite admitting to the assault, Wright and her legal team also faced backlash on social media, being trolled with harsh comments and unfounded accusations.
In court, Wright received a suspended 16-week jail term and was ordered to pay Davies £1,000 in compensation, though the payment was set at a manageable rate due to her income. Following the incident, Davies has been left with ongoing physical pain and emotional scars from the frightening encounter, as he grapples with the life-changing night that will never be forgotten.
