🚨 Caught in the act! 🚨 A fly-tipper was captured on CCTV brazenly unloading waste from his van while staring right into the camera. This shocking incident took place at the Global Centre of Rail Excellence in Onllwyn, near Ystradgynlais.
Thanks to swift action by Powys County Council’s environmental protection team, the owner of the silver Ford Transit from Neath Port Talbot was quickly identified. He faced a £400 fixed penalty notice, which was halved to £200 for early payment. By accepting the fine, he dodged further legal trouble for his actions last December.
Fly-tipping doesn’t just mar our beautiful landscapes; it’s a costly crime that affects our communities. Local authorities, like Powys County Council, are committed to tackling this issue head-on. As Councillor Richard Church reminds us, it’s crucial for residents and businesses alike to ensure waste is discarded correctly using authorised carriers and facilities.
