Cardiff City fans, have you heard what Rob Earnshaw and Nathan Blake are saying about Rubin Colwill? The Bluebirds midfielder is having an impressive season, with stellar performances that are turning heads both at the club and potentially on the international stage!
Colwill has notched up four goals and four assists in all competitions this term, and he’s even been given the captain’s armband at times—a testament to his growing influence on the pitch. Cardiff’s revival under the management of Brian Barry-Murphy is well underway, and Colwill’s contributions have been a key part of it. Earnshaw reckons this could be the season Cardiff makes a serious promotion push, crediting Barry-Murphy’s strategy of backing young talent.
Nathan Blake joined the conversation, praising Colwill’s creative genius, while expressing surprise over his omission from Craig Bellamy’s latest Wales squad. Blake believes Colwill has what it takes to dominate at the League One level. He suggests that if Colwill can continue his form, winning the league and proving himself in the Championship, he will be impossible to overlook for international duty.
But it’s not just Rubin in the spotlight! Joel Colwill, his younger brother, is also shining for Cardiff, showcasing his versatility by playing effectively across multiple positions. Blake is confident Joel’s adaptability might see him grace the Welsh squad sooner rather than later.
The challenge for Rubin? To make his presence “undeniable” by mastering his specialist playmaker role and aiming for higher leagues. His mission is to become Cardiff’s main man, leading them to success and ultimately breaking into international football. Stay tuned, as the Colwill brothers are just getting started!
