Deciding which supermarket sirloin steak to choose for your next special occasion? I’ve done the taste test across seven leading UK supermarkets and the results are in!

First up, let’s talk Tesco. Their sirloin might look good in packaging, but once cooked, it was a bit of a letdown – chewy and fatty, earning just 2 stars. On the other hand, Morrisons didn’t fare much better in our taste test, with its smooth, processed feel and dry texture post-cooking. Another 2-star disappointment.

Sainsbury’s offered a surprising twist. Despite needing a bit of trimming, the steak was tender and yummy in the end, bagging a solid 4 stars. M&S had a tender cut, but the flavour wasn’t as impressive, resulting in another 4 stars from us.

Asda’s sirloin had potential with its marbling but was let down by a chunky piece of fat left at the end. This steak got 3.5 stars.

So, who took the crown? Aldi and Lidl! 🏆 Both supermarkets offered steaks that were rich in flavour and succulently tender, stealing the spotlight with 5 stars each. Best of all? They were also the most budget-friendly options, making it a win-win for your tastebuds and your wallet!

In the showdown of supermarket sirloin steaks, Lidl edged slightly ahead in flavour, but either would be a fantastic choice for your next dinner date or celebration. 🥳

Who knew the best steak could also be the cheapest? Happy grilling! 🍴
