Llanbradach locals are at their wit’s end as the beloved footbridge over their bustling railway station remains missing. It vanished after a tragic run-in with a skip lorry back in May 2020, and while rail bosses assured everyone it would return by the end of 2024, we’re heading into a new year and there’s still no bridge in sight!

🔍 So, what’s the holdup? Transport for Wales has revealed they need to buy land for the new bridge and a temporary work area, which is the major roadblock. Plaid Cymru Councillor Colin Mann has been clear about the frustration, stating the compulsory purchase order (CPO) process is dragging on for six to nine months. He’s pushing for a faster resolution to reconnect the community ASAP.

His colleague, Councillor Gary Enright, echoed the sentiment, saying, “Residents naturally want to see this link restored, and it’s frustrating that the process takes so long.”

🚂 Transport for Wales understands the community’s frustration and ensures they’re working closely with local authorities to sort out these legal hurdles. While negotiations are the primary hurdle, they’re committed to restoring the bridge everyone’s been waiting for.

Let’s hope 2026 brings swift action and a long overdue reunion with Llanbradach’s much-missed bridge! 🌉💬
