Heads up! The Met Office has released fresh warnings due to heavy rains that could pose a danger to life in parts of Northern England and Southwest Scotland. Fast-flowing and deep floodwaters have the Met advising not to drive, walk, or swim in affected areas. Definitely a weekend for wellies and caution!

Affected areas like Dumfries and Galloway, the Lothian borders, Strathclyde in Scotland, and Cumbria in England are bracing for significant rainfall. Over 200mm could drench certain regions. Strong winds combined with the downpour make it crucial to stay inside and stay safe.

Traffic Updates
Are you in the amber alert zones? Please remember: floodwaters can be deceptive and dangerous. If you encounter fast-flowing waters, dial 999 and wait for help.

In preparation, pack a flood kit with essentials: insurance and key documents, torch with spare batteries, first-aid items, prescription meds, warm and waterproof clothing, as well as food and water. Your furry friends need some supplies too!

With power cuts possible and transport potentially dicey, consider rescheduling any travel plans to avoid getting caught in hazardous conditions. Stay informed via weather updates over the weekend so you can enjoy some safer indoor activities.

Stay dry and stay safe, everyone! 💧❗
