Unbelievably disturbing news from Nottingham as 32-year-old Shane York targeted a young boy in a chilling stalking campaign. York, known to have followed and photographed the boy, shockingly attempted to gain employment at his school. When the child’s family decided to move, York posed as them to book viewings and even tried to cancel their house sale.

York didn’t stop there—a raid on his home revealed numerous indecent images and evidence that he had earlier abused another child. He pleaded guilty to ten severe charges, including sexual assault and taking indecent photos of children. The court sentenced him to nine years, with six to be served in custody and three on licence.
Detective Constable Stacey Lamb highlighted the meticulous and manipulative nature of York’s actions, which deeply troubled his victims and brought to light the extent of his depravity. Thanks to the bravery of York’s young victim in speaking out, law enforcement could step in before his offences could escalate further.

York’s case once again underlines the vital importance of vigilance and open communication. Let’s support our children in speaking up and staying safe. A truly worrying case, but justice prevailed, and York’s victims can begin to heal knowing he’s behind bars.
