🚨 Flood Alert in Wales! 🚨

Heads up, Wales! Flood warnings have been issued for five parts of the country following a week of relentless rain during Storm Amy. With high tides coming in on Wednesday evening, residents and businesses, especially those by the coast and estuaries, need to be on their toes.

🌊 Affected Areas:
1. Carmarthenshire coast (Pendine to Hendy, east of Llanelli)
2. Pembrokeshire coast (St Dogmaels to Amroth)
3. Usk Estuary (Newport)
4. Wye Estuary (Monmouthshire)
5. North Gower Coast (Llangennith to Pontarddulais)
Safety First! Prepare an emergency bag with essentials in case you need to move fast. Check how you’d turn off your gas, electricity, and water mains. Keep sandbags and other protection gear handy if you have them. Remember, if flood waters rise, prioritise getting your family and pets to safety!
Stay cautious around beaches, coastal footpaths, roads, and low-lying areas near estuaries. The experts from Natural Resources Wales are keeping a close eye on the situation.
In case the waters rise suddenly, head to the upper floors of your home or find a safe, dry escape route. If the power wasn’t switched off before flooding, avoid touching any electrical items, and keep clear of floodwater.
