The case was heard at Newport Crown Court, where Stuart pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and malicious communication. Judge Matthew Porter-Bryant sentenced him to 27 months in prison and imposed a five-year restraining order. It’s a stark reminder of the danger posed by domestic violence, and sadly, past convictions showed a disturbing pattern in Stuart’s behaviour, with alcohol playing a significant role in his actions.
