🚧 **Project Delays in Bridgend Alert!** 🚧
Heads up, folks! There’s news from Bridgend County Borough about some big project delays affecting the 2025-26 capital budget, including exciting school developments. At a recent council meeting, it was revealed big-ticket projects like the new Heronsbridge and Mynydd Cynffig school sites have hit a pause button, with slippage pushing them into 2026-27.
Why the hold-up? Well, there are sensible reasons like planning timelines and ecological checks, not a lack of funds. Deputy Leader Cllr Jane Gebbie assures these delays are practical steps, not financial cracks.
Cllr Martin Williams voiced concerns over potential cost jumps due to construction inflation, but rest assured, the council’s in solid financial health with a hefty £78m programme still driving forward.
While the delays can be frustrating, good management keeps the unspent budget still earning interest. More funds in the future? Yes, please! 🚀
Stay tuned for more updates as Bridgend continues its investment journey. Community upgrades might be on pause, but their commitment to a bright, well-managed future remains full steam ahead! 🌟
