⚠️ *Shocking Moments in Menai Bridge!* ⚠️
Earlier this week, Menai Bridge witnessed a tense situation that could have quickly turned dangerous. Arron Dean, a 31-year-old local from Dale Street, caused panic as he walked through town visibly armed with a knife.
Officers from North Wales Police responded promptly, confronting Dean on the high street. The standoff ended swiftly when Dean threw the weapon to the ground after a Taser was drawn. The entire arrest, captured in a dramatic image, highlights the quick action of the police in averting potential harm.
Dean, who reportedly became aggressive at a nearby residence before leaving with the knife, appeared before Caernarfon Magistrates Court. He admitted to possessing a knife in public and received a 26-week jail sentence.
Sergeant Akhil Patel emphasised, “Carrying a knife does not make anyone safer; it puts everyone at more risk of danger.” He reaffirmed the priority of tackling knife crime in Anglesey and encouraged locals to report any similar concerns to police or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
