Welsh rugby icon Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies has once again shown us what true grit and determination look like! At 63, Jiffy has just wrapped up an intense 300km cycling challenge from Seville to Marbella in the relentless Spanish heat, battling with temperatures soaring to 42C!
With two major operations on his knee and back in 2024, this ride wasn’t just physically challenging—it was a testament to Jiffy’s unstoppable spirit and dedication to a cause that’s close to his heart: raising funds for cancer charity Velindre. Over the years, as Velindre’s president, Jiffy has helped raise over £50 million, transforming countless lives affected by cancer.
Joined by a team of amazing individuals, Jiffy powered through brutal climbs and headwinds, achieving what many would deem impossible. But it wasn’t just the physical trial that hit hard—it was the emotional reminder of why he was riding that broke him down. A heartfelt message from Velindre about a single parent in their care brought Jiffy to tears, reinforcing the impact of his efforts and the power of their fundraising mission.
As he crossed the finish line, the exhaustion and pain were visible, but so was the pride. Jiffy didn’t just ride for the challenge; he rode for hope, to make a difference, and to honour loved ones lost to cancer. 💪❤️
