The Swansea Triathlon drew athletes from across the UK to tackle the ultimate test of endurance on one of the hottest days of the year! Athletes braved the sweltering heat as they swam, cycled, and ran through Swansea’s scenic city centre and waterfront last Sunday. This year’s race saw competitors taking on a 750m swim, a 20km bike ride, and a 5km run, finishing triumphantly in front of the National Waterfront Museum amidst cheering crowds.

Andrew Horsfall-Turner from MYSWIMCO claimed the top spot in the Tri Sprint with an impressive time of 57:12.6, followed closely by Liam Lloyd of TRI Potential and Luke Powell from Ferndale Triathlon Club. Meanwhile, Jimmy Davis of Carmarthen Harriers dominated the 5K run with a swift 16:55.6.

The event wasn’t just for elites; it welcomed participants of all abilities, adding to the electric atmosphere throughout the city. The 3K swim saw Daniel Whittaker clinch first place, with standout performances in other swimming events by Ben Rawlins from Y Tri and Ria Evans of Team NFT leading the pack in the 750m swim.
Spectators lined the streets, offering enthusiastic support and keeping spirits high as athletes pushed their limits in the intense heat. Some found sweet relief in ice cream breaks under the blazing sun!
Swansea’s triathlon once again showcased the city as a prime destination for major sporting events, making it a memorable day for both competitors and supporters. The blazing sun could not overshadow the determination and camaraderie seen on the day – well done to everyone involved! 🏊♂️🚴♀️🏃♂️
