🚔 **Crime Drama Unfolds in Brecon** 🚗
In a string of daring car thefts, 20-year-old Trinos Short left chaos in his wake across Brecon. This audacious thief didn’t just stop at car theft; he took recklessness to new heights by flipping a stolen vehicle onto its roof! And if you think that’s shocking, wait till you hear what happened next—he coolly asked a nearby neighbour to help flip the car back over!
This relentless spree had the town on edge as Short broke into homes to swipe car keys, leaving some residents too terrified to stay in their own homes. One homeowner in Brecon was rudely awakened by a barking dog, only to discover their Hyundai and house keys vanished into the twilight.
But Short’s spree didn’t stop there. He was seen on CCTV prowling about, trying door handles and brazenly escaping in neighbours’ cars, regardless of damage or noise made. His escapades hit a crescendo when a Volkswagen he attempted to pilfer ended up on its roof, headlights piercing the night sky.
Despite his boldness, Short’s days of unlawful joyrides soon screeched to a halt. After a series of close encounters with the law—including a high-speed cat-and-mouse chase with the police—he was eventually caught hiding in his own attic! 🚨
Short faced the music at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court where his laundry list of offences, from aggravated vehicle taking to burglary, led to a four-year prison sentence and a five-year driving ban.
In court, mitigating factors like his challenging upbringing and the desire for a fresh start were acknowledged, but justice was uncompromising.
