🚨 **Shocking Scenes in Ebbw Vale!** 🚨

Police are on the case after troubling reports of underage drinking linked to a local off-license. An ongoing investigation has revealed serious allegations against a shop called Bargain Beer on Market Street. Officers, along with council members, have been at it for 11 months now, digging into claims that alcohol has been sold to kids as young as 14. 😲

Recently, teens were seen leaving the shop with cans in hand, leading to concerns over antisocial behaviour after they hit the streets intoxicated. There’s also been chatter about the sale of cigarettes to minors! 🛑
With the mounting evidence, Gwent Police are urging councillors to reconsider the shop’s license. The sub-committee is set to review Bargain Beer’s license, eyed for any breaches of its conditions. PC Jon Taylor from Gwent Police highlighted significant lapses in adhering to licensing objectives, raising alarm bells about the current management’s commitment—or lack thereof—to prevent underage sales.
To curb this unsettling trend, Trading Standards have proposed some new measures: 🔍 CCTV should always be fully operational 🔍 Staff must undergo training to stop underage sales 🔍 A “challenge 25” scheme should be put in place 🔍 Cut down the shop’s alcohol sale hours
The call for change is clear: it’s time for serious action to uphold the rules and protect our youth! 🛡️
