🚨 Big bust on illegal cigarettes in Flintshire! 🚨

In a bold operation, over 8,000 counterfeit cigarettes and 3.5kg of fake tobacco were seized from four shops across Mold, Holywell, Buckley, and Connah’s Quay. Teaming up, Flintshire Trading Standards, North Wales Police, Immigration services, and some sniff-tastic detection dogs uncovered these illegal products cleverly hidden in secret compartments.

This action was part of Operation CeCe, a national initiative fighting back against the spread of illegal tobacco. Why’s this important? Well, such products pose serious health risks and can harm local businesses, all while funding wider criminal networks that tarnish our communities.

David Fitzsimon, chief officer for place and growth, highlighted the importance of these raids, saying they not only protect consumers but also support local trade against those undermining legitimate business.
If you suspect any dodgy dealings in your area, be a hero and report them to Flintshire County Council Trading Standards. Let’s work together and keep our community safe! 💪
