Cardiff City bagged a thrilling 2-1 win against promotion rivals Bradford City, leaving fans on the edge of their seats! 🎉 Manager Brian Barry-Murphy couldn’t stop praising the team for their resilience, especially after a nail-biting second half.
The first half saw David Turnbull score a jaw-dropping goal from 20 yards, putting Cardiff in the lead. Not long after, Calum Chambers doubled the score with a clever flick from Ollie Tanner’s cross-shot. 🥅⚽️
But Bradford wasn’t going down without a fight! Jenson Metcalfe pulled one back with a superb strike in the second half, testing Cardiff’s defence to the max. Barry-Murphy had his lads putting their ‘bodies on the line’, illustrating the true spirit of Cardiff football. 💪
The drama wasn’t just limited to spectacular goals, as Bradford’s manager, Graham Alexander, was left fuming when a penalty appeal was turned down. According to him, “it was a blatant penalty,” adding to the heated rivalry.
Despite Bradford’s strong second-half performance, Cardiff held their ground and came out on top. Barry-Murphy was delighted, highlighting the importance of showing progress every week, especially against a formidable team like Bradford.
What a rollercoaster of a match! Cardiff’s bright start has surely set the pace in the League One promotion race. Let’s see what’s next for our boys in blue! 🔵👏
