🌧️🌞 Good news, Wales – it looks like we can finally put our umbrellas away! BBC weatherman Derek Brockway has some sunny predictions for us. After what seems like endless rain and multiple flood alerts affecting areas like the Rivers Bran, Lower Teifi, and River Ewenny, brighter days are on the horizon.

This Saturday promises to be the best day of the weekend, bringing us plenty of sunshine. As for Sunday, the start of meteorological spring, expect a windy and damp day, but it’ll be milder with some dry spells in the afternoon.

Looking ahead to next week, high pressure means things are going to be more settled. The Met Office is forecasting lots of dry weather with spells of sunshine – especially in the south and southeast. However, the north and west might still face some rain and strong winds, possibly even a bit of snow on high ground. Temperatures should be near or above normal, though be prepared for a few frosty nights.
Despite the recent weather chaos, there’s a silver lining – spring is showing up early in the form of vibrant blooms in National Trust gardens. Dyffryn’s Walled Garden near Cardiff is already displaying apricot blossoms a week or two ahead of schedule. 🌸
So hang in there, fellow Welsh folk – the brighter, drier days are just around the corner! Keep your eyes peeled for those early spring flowers. 🌼
Let’s embrace the change and get ready to swap our wellies for sunnier shoes. Happy spring (almost)!
