🦠🚢 Shocking Hantavirus Outbreak on Cruise Ship! 🚢🦠

A birdwatching trip turned tragic as it’s believed to be the source of a deadly hantavirus outbreak aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship. The ship, travelling from Argentina to Cape Verde, has been struck by this rare rodent-carried virus, leading to the unfortunate deaths of three passengers, including a Dutch couple in their late 60s.

As the investigation unfolds, officials suspect the virus was contracted during a visit to a landfill in Ushuaia before the couple boarded. Ushuaia, in the Tierra del Fuego province, has never recorded a hantavirus case until this incident.
With dozens of other passengers falling ill, the MV Hondius is desperately seeking a port, currently charting a course for the Canary Islands. However, the regional leader Fernando Clavijo has made it clear the ship will not be allowed to dock, urging an emergency meeting with Spain’s Prime Minister.
As the story develops, our thoughts are with all those affected by this devastating outbreak. Stay safe and informed! 🕊️
