🚨 Synagogue Attack Update: Two Arrests Made 🚔

Tragedy struck in Crumpsall, Manchester, as a car and knife attack near the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue resulted in two deaths. The incident has been deemed a terrorist attack by counter-terrorism police. Two individuals have been arrested following the chaos, with the suspect shot dead by police after allegedly driving a car into pedestrians and stabbing a security guard.
In a press conference, Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor from the Metropolitan Police confirmed the suspect’s identity but chose not to reveal it for “safety reasons at the scene”. Furthermore, three people remain in a serious condition.

The violent event unfolded amidst the solemn observance of Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, making the attacks even more devastating for the community. The King, deeply shocked, offered his condolences, praising the quick response of the emergency services. The Prince and Princess of Wales have also expressed their thoughts for the victims and their families.
A nearby area around the synagogue has seen intense police activity, with armed officers and numerous police vehicles on high alert. Residents reported seeing arrests on a street close to the synagogue, as police continue their investigation.
As the Jewish community tries to process this grievous event, local hospitals are on high alert with increased security measures. The Community Security Trust has condemned the act, calling it an “appalling attack”.
