Exciting news for Bridgend: Travelodge is transforming the empty Waterton House into a brand new 80-bedroom hotel! 🚀 Located just two miles from Bridgend town centre, this project will breathe new life into the long-vacant building, previously home to Canadian IT firm CGI. What’s more, this will be Travelodge’s 21st hotel in Wales! 🏨

This innovative project, backed by Wavendon Land Ltd, will kick off this month and is set to wrap up in 18 months to two years. It’s all about reimagining spaces – avoiding the carbon impact of new construction while offering modern, economical accommodation for both business and leisure travellers. 🌿
Get ready for the brand’s latest touches, including their signature Bar Cafe! Tony O’Brien, Travelodge’s UK development director, said it’s a strong example of sustainable growth by repurposing vacant buildings. 💼

In other hotel news, the historic Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris has been acquired by Condor Hotels. This Grade II-listed gem on the seafront was originally built in 1832! It’s set to continue its legacy under new ownership. 🏰
Bridgend and Beaumaris are gearing up for exciting new chapters in hospitality! Stay tuned for more updates.
