Heartbreaking news from Bristol as a tragic house explosion on Sterncourt Road claimed the lives of a man and woman on Sunday, May 3rd. Local reports suggest that the blast was allegedly caused by an explosive device set off by the man, taking both his life and that of his ex-partner. This incident has left the community in shock, with heartfelt tributes pouring in for the victims.

One touching message described the woman as an “amazing friend,” while others expressed deep sympathies to the grieving families, saying, “Sending love and support. RIP.”

The explosion, which occurred at 6.30am, also injured three others, including a child, who have thankfully been discharged from the hospital. While there’s speculation about the involvement of a grenade, this remains unconfirmed as the investigation continues.
Police have declared the explosion suspicious but reassured the public it’s not being treated as a terrorist act. A white forensic tent now stands on Sterncourt Road, a sombre reminder of the tragedy, as officers continue their meticulous examination of the scene.
Residents were temporarily evacuated but began returning home on Sunday evening. Superintendent Matt Ebbs confirmed that the police were called to a domestic-related incident shortly before the explosion occurred.
Our hearts go out to the families impacted by this devastating event. Let’s come together to support each other during this difficult time.
