🌳 How Much Time Do Brits Really Spend Outdoors? 🌿

Feeling stuck inside more than you’d like? You’re not alone! A recent poll reveals that one in five Brits only manage a full day outside a couple of times a year. The main culprits? Work, childcare, and yes, our beloved screens. 📱💻

Digging deeper into the generations, it seems Gen Zers are losing interest in outdoor activities faster than others. Meanwhile, Millennials are battling family commitments that keep them indoors. The study showed that, on average, people spend just 84 minutes outside each day, with some barely stepping into daylight for even five minutes. 😲

Want to see where you fit in with your age group? Younger adults (25-34) are the most outdoorsy, often spending over 104 minutes enjoying fresh air daily, while those 45-54 are more likely to be cooped up indoors. Interestingly, the 55+ crowd is slowly rediscovering the great outdoors, perhaps enjoying a well-deserved breather from life’s responsibilities. 🌞
Many folks are eyeing ways to boost their outdoor time. Ideas include discovering new walking trails, making social plans that focus on the outside world, and setting goals for daily nature time. Some are even planning camping trips for that much-needed nature fix! ⛺
What about the tech factor? A whopping 28% believe their generation is more indoorsy than the last, mainly because of increased screen time and digital entertainment. Let’s unplug a bit and soak up what nature offers!
Remember, escaping into nature isn’t just refreshing, it’s revitalising! So why not make those outdoor plans and start breathing in life’s freshest air. 🌬️🌲
