A Cardiff man, Jason Talbot, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison after a brutal assault on his partner that left her “covered in blood”. The incident, which took place on July 28 last year, involved Talbot punching the woman in the face and headbutting her before pushing her to the floor. As a result, she suffered a concussion, a black eye, facial swelling, and a broken nose.

A neighbour, alarmed by the commotion, called the police, leading to Talbot’s arrest. The court heard that he had a history of sending offensive messages and harassing the victim with unwanted transactions. Despite previously having a restraining order against him, this didn’t deter his violent behaviour.

During the sentencing, Judge Paul Hobson condemned Talbot’s actions, highlighting the lack of care and respect shown towards his partner. This conviction adds to his list of previous offences, including harassment and criminal damage.
