What a thrilling game at Parc y Scarlets! The Scarlets put up a spirited fight but were narrowly defeated by the Bulls, who are chasing those URC play-off spots. Despite three impressive tries from the Scarlets, it was Handre Pollard’s boots that edged the Bulls to a nail-biting 23-21 victory.

The night kicked off with the Bulls’ Cheswell Jooste scoring a well-coordinated try, converted seamlessly. But the Scarlets hit back swiftly! Joe Hawkins’ magical footwork set up newcomer Callum Wooley for a cracking try, followed by a spectacular set-piece move allowing Eddie James to charge over the line.

The first half action didn’t stop there. Bulls’ Harold Vorster’s lightning break and slick offload led to Pollard diving over for another converted try. A yellow card for the Bulls’ Stedman Ghee-Gans after the break, and another for Francois Klopper, seemed to tip the scales back in favour of the Scarlets. Captain Fletcher Anderson bulldozed through to put the Scarlets back ahead.

Pollard, not one to be overshadowed, kept the scoreboard ticking with his precise penalty. Even with a massive penalty from Hawkins seven minutes out, it was Pollard’s consistent accuracy that nudged the Bulls back in front as time ticked away.
A late, disallowed try by David Kriel for a forward pass kept the tension at its peak. But ultimately, it was Pollard’s final penalty that sealed the game for the visitors. A heartbreaker for the Scarlets, but a showcase of brilliance from both sides!
Scarlets: Tries from Wooley, James, and Anderson; Hawkins adding crucial penalties.
