🎄 Dive into Christmas cheer at Porthcawl’s legendary Christmas Day swim! 🌊❄️

Despite the chill, over 1,000 brave souls took the plunge in Coney Beach for the 60th year running. Donning everything from Santa hats to snowman suits, and even Beatles-inspired outfits, participants turned up in style to make a splash for charity.

This beloved tradition started in the 1960s with a lone swimmer’s festive dip. Fast forward to today, it’s a community staple raising over £175,000 for local charities, and this year, top beneficiaries include 2Wish and the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity.
From trainers to hippos with an Elvis twist, creativity knows no bounds at this event. And yes, even Santa made an appearance, trading in his sleigh for a splashy entrance with his trusty unicorn (or rather, a reindeer in disguise).
For those who joined the fun, remember: it’s all about raising funds and spreading festive joy. And if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry! Enjoy some of the best snapshots from the day, capturing everything from the hyped-up run into the waves to the giggles and shivers on the shore. 📸
Here’s to 60 years of festive fun and fundraising, Porthcawl style! 💖 Share and spread the holiday cheer till next year’s dip. 🎅🏼🎸🦄#PorthcawlChristmasSwim #FestiveFun #CharitySplash
