🏅🎉 A massive congratulations to Cardiff’s very own trailblazer, Ruby Evans! This incredible Olympian has just snagged the prestigious Artistic Gymnastics (Women’s) Athlete of the Year award at the British Gymnastics Awards. But that’s not all – her amazing coach, Tracey Skirton, also took home the Artistic Gymnastics (Women’s) Coach of the Year prize! 🤸♀️
This dynamic duo has made waves in the gymnastics world, showcasing unparalleled talent and teamwork. Ruby’s journey to these accolades is nothing short of inspiring, having already made history as the first Welsh female gymnast to compete in an Olympic Games in 28 years at Paris 2024! 🌟
With Tracey by her side, Ruby dazzled at the 2024 European Championships with two silver medals and played a pivotal role in Britain’s silver win in the 2025 European Championships Mixed Team event. Her standout moment, however, came at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta, where she earned a silver medal on the floor exercise – a historic first for a Welsh gymnast at the World Championships! 🥈
Tracey’s guidance has been key in transforming Ruby from a rising star to a world-class contender, building a partnership grounded in trust, precision, and shared ambition. Their success is a testament to the power of dedication and collaboration in sport. 👏
The British Gymnastics Awards 2026 celebrated these remarkable achievements, highlighting not just their medal haul, but their positive impact on gymnastics and their community. Let’s cheer them on as their journey continues to inspire us all! 🎊 #ProudToBeWelsh #GymnasticsChampions #TeamRubyAndTracey
