π§ Heads up, Cardiff residents! π§

Big changes are coming to the city as Cardiff Crossrail works kick off this week! π The exciting new tram-train route will soon connect Cardiff Central with Cardiff Bay, transforming Callaghan Square in the process.

Expect a smooth ride in the future, but for now, plan some extra time for your journeys. Although there won’t be road closures, there will be fewer lanes available at Callaghan Square. π

Got questions on your commute? Here’s how you can best navigate the roads during the works:
β‘οΈ From the north? Take North Road, Boulevard de Nantes, or Fitzalan Place.
β‘οΈ Coming from the east? Opt for Newport Road and Glossop Road.
β‘οΈ Approaching from the south or west? Try the A4232 or Central Link.
This ambitious project, funded jointly by Welsh & UK Governments, will not only upgrade the transport system but also play a key role in the cityβs development with new pedestrian spaces, cycle routes, and improved crossings. π³πΆββοΈπ΄
Cardiff is gearing up for a future with a more sustainable and affordable transport system π. It’s all part of Cardiff’s 10-year transport vision aiming for a greener city π.
A big thanks to everyone for your patience as these essential works unfold! Let’s look forward to a modern tram system that will benefit residents, workers, and visitors for years to come! π
Keep an eye out for updates and always follow the signage for a smoother journey. π’
