🏉 Cardiff fans are buzzing after an impressive 7th consecutive win in the Super Rygbi Cymru! Coach Dan Fish is hopeful they’ve nailed down the winning formula after a thrilling 7-try victory over Llandovery. 🌟
With Wales U20 talents like Tom Bowen, Steff Emanuel, and Osian Darwin-Lewis in play, Cardiff’s backs were on fire. Osian Darwin-Lewis showcased his speed with two first-half tries, while Dewi Cross, Ben Fry, Joe Goodchild, and Aled Ward made sure to add to the scoreboard in the second half. Harri Wilde was on hand to convert five tries. 🎯
A pivotal moment came when Llandovery’s George Macdonald was shown red 15 minutes in for a tackle on Emanuel. Despite a brief comeback from Llandovery, who managed to lead 14-5 after tries by Tomi Lewis and Adam Warren, Cardiff’s numerical advantage helped them regain control and dominate the remainder of the match. 🔥
Reflecting on the game, Fish admitted, “We started strong but got complacent after the red card. Llandovery scored twice, but we regrouped and executed the plan perfectly in the second half.”
This fantastic run places Cardiff tantalisingly close to securing a top-two finish ahead of the playoffs, with a crucial game against rivals Newport coming up next. A win there could ensure a home quarter-final and further advantage in the semi-finals at Arms Park. 🏟️
“We’re building consistency and gelling well as a team. We’ve got boys coming from various camps, and the more they play together, the better they connect. It’s all coming together now,” Fish added optimistically.
Llandovery, meanwhile, must recover quickly after suffering their fourth loss in five games. They’re currently fourth in the league, just five points clear of fifth-placed Swansea, with two rounds to go.
Can Cardiff keep the momentum going and secure that home advantage? Fans, mark your calendars and get ready for an epic Thursday night showdown! 📅💪
