Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, kept his cool during a fiery press conference, focusing solely on the upcoming Carabao Cup clash with Cardiff City, despite a slew of questions about his previous comments. Maresca acknowledged it was a tense few days at Stamford Bridge, but he’s determined to put all that behind him. Over and over, he reminded the press, “It’s Cardiff tomorrow, please,” showing no interest in any topic other than the Bluebirds.
Maresca smartly sidestepped inquiries about his relationships within the club, staying laser-focused on the game at hand. With Cardiff enjoying a strong start to their season under Brian Barry-Murphy, Maresca emphasised they pose a real threat. He praised their top-league status and style of play, making it clear that Chelsea can’t afford to overlook them.
The Blues manager highlighted the potential pitfalls of being favourites, stressing the need for concentration against Cardiff. Maresca’s determined focus on the game shows his commitment to securing a place in another semi-final.
As questions about his earlier remarks persisted, Maresca made it clear that controversy is now behind him, calmly reiterating, “It’s done. It’s finished. Now it’s focus on Cardiff.” His unwavering stance is a reminder that, despite the drama, it’s all eyes on tomorrow’s big match!
