š¬ļø Big News for the Valleys! šæ

Exciting plans are afoot for a new wind farm in Rhondda Cynon Taf, and it could power up to 96,000 homes! The Carreg Wen wind farm project, proposed by the renewable energy company Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru, involves installing 18 turbines within the picturesque St Gwynno Forest, south of Aberdare and north of Maerdy and Ferndale. š²š
This project is one of three initiatives that aim to generate enough clean energy to electrify around 25% of Welsh homes. Imagine that! A huge step towards more sustainable living here in Wales. šš”

But we want to hear from YOU! Local folks from Aberdare, Maerdy, Cwmaman, and nearby areas are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas. Pop along to one of the drop-in events happening this month:
– Cwmaman Primary School: 21st October, 3.15pm-6.15pm
– Ferndale Youth Club: 22nd October, 2pm-7pm
– Sobell Leisure Centre in Aberdare: 25th October, 9am-2pm
See how the wind farm would look with a digital modelling tool, and meet the project team to have a natter about what this could mean for our beautiful RCT. š¬
Can’t make it in person? No worries! An online exhibition will be available from 21st October, so you can still have your say. The feedback deadline is 18th November, so there’s plenty of time to get involved.
Mark Roberts, the project manager, says, “This is a great site for a wind farm, and Iām eager to meet everyone and discuss how to make this project the best it can be for Rhondda Cynon Taf and all of Wales.”
Let’s make our voices heard and be part of building a greener future. šš
