Rachel, who once was a vibrant hairdresser, faced a heart attack during Freya’s birth in July 2012 due to an undetected blood clot, resulting in a hypoxic brain injury. 💔 Spending a week in a coma, her prospects seemed grim, but with her daughter by her side, things began to change.

Rachel’s journey back to life started by watching little Freya. When Freya sat up, Rachel did too. As Freya took her first baby steps, Rachel soon followed. Now, Rachel has relearned to walk and talk, but she still needs ongoing private physio to continue her progress, as the NHS could only offer basic support.

But with the rising cost of living, the Rachel Harry Fund, set up by her dad, aims to ensure continued physiotherapy and keep her journey alive. Yet, fundraising has slowed, and Rachel’s therapy sessions have been reduced to once a week. 💪

Recently, Rachel and Freya had a special moment on a trip to Portugal, playing together in the pool unassisted for the first time, bringing Freya’s dream of having fun with her mum closer to reality.

Rachel’s recovery is branded nothing less than a miracle by her consultants. Though the brain injury was catastrophic, Rachel’s progress is nothing short of phenomenal. She’s the shining star for her daughter Freya, who at just 13, shows immense compassion and care.
